  • Wella Professionals Enrich Hair Moisturizing Treatment Review

Update : 23 Jan, 2018 – I no longer use silicones because I figured they weigh my hair down.

In my never ending quest to find out the best hair treatments for curly hair(especially ones that are easily available in India), I came across Wella Professionals Enrich Hair Moisturizing Treatment.

Description by Wella Professionals : For thick hair: Creamy mask that restores dry damaged hair, leaves a healthy look with an instantly noticeable soft touch.

Price: 460 INR for 150 ml. You can but it here or here.

Ingredient Analysis:

Water, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol – Fatty alcohols(They smoothen the hair cuticle), Behentrimonium Chloride – Soluble Positively charged surfactant (Gives slip to hair), Silicone Quaternium-22, Divinyldimethicone/Dimethicone Copolymer, Bis-PEG-4 Dimethicone – Insoluble silicones, Panthenol – Humectant(If the weather is very humid, humectants will absorb a lot of moisture from the air and cause the hair to swell, causing frizz. On the other hand if the weather is extremely dry, they will absorb moisture from your hair.), Fragrance, Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol – Preservatives, Creatine, Disodium EDTA , PEG-4 Dilaurate, PEG-4 Laurate, C12-13 Pareth-23, C12-13 Pareth-3, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, PEG-4, Hydrolyzed Silk – Insignificant ingredients(preservatives, emulsifiers etc).

Humectants get washed away with water and so aren’t tricky in rinse-off products like conditioners and masks. No harsh alcohols. The list looks quite good to me but for the fact that there are absolutely no natural oils or butters.

CG Friendly: No
Texture: This has an almost airy, whipped and creamy texture. The slip is very good (what with all the silicones :D).
Smell: It smells really nice. A fresh and pleasing fragrance which is not at all strong or bothersome to the nose.
Packaging: A sleek and tiny tub of plastic which can easily sit inside your bag

Performance:

Here’s how I apply conditioners – How to wash & condition curly hair and here is a post with my full curly hair care routine – My curly hair routine .

+ Provides good slip whoch makes detangling curly hair in the shower extremely easy peasy

+ Hair feels smooth to touch in the shower itself

+ Imparts shine, hydration and bounce to curly hair

+ Doesn’t make hair look greasy or frizzy

+ Fly aways are tamed to a good extent

– The only problem I have with this product is the absence of nourishing oils and butters. Being a ‘Moisturizing’ ‘Treatment’ for ‘dry’ ‘damaged’ hair, I guess it is OK to expect some really good oils and butters, right?

In short: A very good deep treatment mask or conditioner for curly hair which is easily available in India(have linked the website in the introduction para) and is quite cheap compared to Loreal and OGX’s products.

Hey hi! I know it isnt CG approved. I have been using, matrix biolage ultrahydrasource since 2yr now, with diy deep conditioners like banana mask. Sabudana mask. But my hair is becoming dry day by day. Whereas wella had suited my hair a lot. Had used it for almost 10yr.
MY QUES if i do regular clarifying, can i use this same?
Thank you.
