Ingredients after the first 5 to 8 ingredients are in negligible amounts and can be ignored if you are not trying to avoid any ingredient in particular – Read the Ingredients List, Not the Product Claims. I love the ingredients list. It’s filled with mild cleansers and frizz controlling ingredients. I am a bit wary about the need for glycol distearate, as pearly looking products are usually high in pH.

CG Friendly: Yes
Performance:
+ Lathers and cleans well
+ Doesn’t dry out hair
– It is not the most moisturizing shampoo that I’ve used. That’s possibly due to the glycol distearate mentioned in the ingredient analysis.

Overall, I would say that Vilvah Goatmilk Shampoo is a decent sulphate free shampoo in India.

Have you tried Vilvah products? How do you like them?

I felt the same, the conditioner does help with tangles but doesn’t give enough slip for my liking. Love the smell though❤️

Hi Five, Krishna 🙂

Hey Anjana
What do you think of Almond hair oils? Are they good for curly hair definition?
I have a problem of limp lanky hair..I would like my curly hair to be more defined.. any advice? 🙂

I don’t prefer using oils straight up for the purpose of curl definition. Have you started with the curly hair routine mentioned here – https://www.curlsandbeautydiary.com/start-here-curly-hair/

Hello Anjana, even though am using cg approved shampoos, hair gets tangled. Can I know what can be the reason for that? I use a little and also dilute it. Also use it only on scalp and do not scrub hair. Do even approved shampoos have any ingredients that can be harsh and cause hair to tangle?

Hi Anisha, yes there definitely can be “harsh” CG friendly shampoos. It’s got to do with formulation, pH, concentration etc.

Hi.. i have dry and frizzy curly hair.. vilvah shampoo and conditioner didn’t do much good to my hair instead i felt the shampoo was rather drying while conditioner tangled my hair more resulting in more hair in the drain

Hi Anjana, which conditioner according to you is the best when it comes to detangling ( Indian and foreign brand)? My hair is long and dry so needs a lot of effort which detangling.

Thank you Anjana, I used Devacurl original for a long time, got a big bottle too but there were a lot of posts online saying they have messed up with the products and that they are not working, the company even did a recall of products..so now I am not sure of it’s quality.

Hello anjana
I started curly girl routine 2 months backs. After coming across your blog, I bought vilvah goat milk shampoo and reequil Conditioner. I was so bloody excited. But after starting the routine , my hair fall has increased and my hair gets too dry after 2nd day. I really don’t understand what to buy next, though my hair were frizzy with no proper clumps but it didn’t dry out like crazy. I have gone through so many product reviews here, but am scared to try. I don’t want to worsen the condition. I live in chennai.

Hi Vallabhai, I don’t recommend Vilvah shampoo that often. This is the one I recommend in my beginner kit – https://www.curlsandbeautydiary.com/plum-shampoo-conditioner-and-hair-mask-review/
