Priyadarshini Srinivasan: Readers’ Diary includes some of my beautiful readers who’ve had a curly hair transformation after following the Curly Hair Routine. A whole section dedicated to my readers.
So here’s a big shoutout to all my lovely readers – I would love it if you can share photos of your curly hair’s before & after, how the blog has helped you and a paragraph about your routine and products. Send them to info@curlsandbeautydiary.com
“I have always had frizzy, poofy and unruly hair for as long as I can remember. I always hated it, and never quite understood it. I wasn’t even aware of the fact that my hair was curly up until very recently. I straightened my hair almost everyday for a year without a care in the world when I was in 10th grade and by the end of the year, I ended up with severe split ends, extreme heat damage and unmanageable frizz, much worse then it was ever before. After that, I just got regular trims and used straighteners only on special occasions. This April, I came across a video from an Indian Youtuber about the curly girl method where this blog was mentioned. I read your blog thoroughly. Ordered the products based on your reviews, used the techniques and tricks mentioned on the blog to apply the products, and oh my god, got amazing results right from the first wash itself!
My curly hair routine
- Pre poo – Olive oil
- Shampoo – Plum olive and macadamia shampoo (loved your review, worked beautifully on my hair)
- Conditioner – Re-equil murumuru damage repair conditioner (again, got to know about this gem through your blog). I applied a good amount of conditioner and detangled my hair and washed it off.
- Leave-in – Used little bit of the same conditioner as leave in. Didn’t weigh down my high porosity, coarse hair at all, worked great. I first raked the product in to dripping wet hair and then scrunched it till I got clumps.
- Gel – Ashba botanics right ringlets curl defining gel – Sooo good! Didn’t leave my hair dry, and gave great definition and medium hold. Applied it with the praying hands method first, and then scrunched it well.
- I then micro plopped my hair a little bit to remove any excess water, and plopped it for 20 minutes with a cotton t-shirt.
- After that, I let my hair down, and let it air dry.
A lot of people tend to not even start this journey as they may get overwhelmed by the plethora of information available on the internet. While a thorough research is good, looking at too many different resources can just leave you confused and discouraged, and I feel that because this blog has covered all the things one needs to know about curly hair care, I didn’t really need to look anywhere else, and was motivated to start my journey! Thanks a ton, Anjana! Much love to you.”
