“I have been so inspired by you and the products that you share. You have helped me so much!!! I wasn’t using the right products before. But after reading your posts I’ve been able to understand better my hair needs. Thank you!!!
I was able to better understand my curl pattern when reading your blog. I now know that my hair is 3c and needs specific products and a specific hair routine to truly maintain it. You are very elaborate and have a lot of content on your blog. You specifically address each and every curly hair question any girl could have. I loved reading through your hair routine. Its very helpful in that I now have a step by step guide to help me figure out exactly when to wash my hair, cowash etc.
Products and routine:
– Deva Curl No Poo
– Deva Curl Frizz-Free Volumizing Foam
– Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk
– Tropic Isle Black Castor Oil
– Tropic Isle Red Pimento Hair Growth Oil
– Goddess Curls
– Coconut Oil
I only wash my hair about twice a week. Every night before my wash n go I will use the black castor oil, red pimento oil, vitamin E oil, and warm coconut oil as a treatment. I then put in the DevaCurl products while my hair is wet.
I usually air dry my hair after that or I will diffuse a little bit. If there are frizzy curls I usually use the style milk or Moroccan cream to define the curls.
I started this journey in 2014. I had to chop off all of my dead hair that was damaged from heat styling. My hair made an instant transformation once I cut it, however it still was not at its healthiest. It took about a year for my hair to be at its healthiest and then I made the mistake of bleaching it at the wrong salon. It ruined my hair and I then had to start again. That was about 2 years ago and I am now finally seeing great results. I wasn’t following my hair treatments that well and didn’t quite understand what my hair needed until very recently. My hair is finally growing. It helps to have a satin pillow and satin bonnet. It also helps to wear protective styles. The castor oil has made a huge difference as well as doing deep moisture treatments weekly in terms of promoting growth.”

Hey Anjana.
I read your page. At first it was soo confusing on what to read, from where to start n all. But now onto the track.
Mine is a fine 2a hair type and Its now a little dry and frizzy after colouring. After reading your page i am planning to start with enliven natural fruit extract conditioner and a gel you mentioned for fine hair type. Is this fine for a starter? Is there any recommendations for the oil and shampoo to be used. How often should one oil their hair.
Adding to that i have hair fall issues due to dandruff. What to do with that? What should a starter take care of at the beginning?

Give it a try and see how you like your hair. I sometimes like to use both or sometimes just the gel. Leave in conditioner is conditioner that is left in hair(not washed off) so that there is enough moisture in hair.

Hey Anjana, I do oil my hair deep every week, since most of the time my hair is very dry. Once I oil my hair I don’t think the oil is getting removed completely with the shampoo, and I used to like to keep a little oil on hair to have moisture look.
How many times to Wash the hair with shampoo to remove the hair. I did follow the curly routine by shampooing and conditioning and then applied Aveda he curly cream on hair and just hair dried by itself( as I don’t use diffuser) .. I don’t see the beautiful curls yet 😞😞😞
Please pass on ur suggestions.

Oil is not moisture. Water is. You need water based products for hydration. Not soaking your hair in oil. Put only as much oil as would be removed with 1 shampoo wash.
Why haven’t you included a gel? How much conditioner and cream did you leave in?

May be I will reduce applying oil on hair…conditioner and cream I did use around 3-4 spoon approx…
I feel using gel will make my hair sticky and get dried together. But since you are suggesting will buy a devacurl ultra defining gel to experience.
Btw, as u say in the blog after each hair wash, from second day we should not de tangle by fingers … but my hair gets tangled and dried in the next day itself.. what is the remedy .
Sorry to ask u too may questions , but I think this is the first time I am trying to follow
Someone 🙂

I did co washed my hair yesterday and used plenty of conditioner on hair as u suggested. For sure my hair is looking much better but I am able to see the hair tangled today.. is it due to lack of gel or is there someway to tackle it ( I remember reading ur blog should not run fingers over hair once it is dry) . How can i get the same look tomorrow.

Hey Anjana,
I dint leave the conditioner on hair, I have migraine issues hence not very confident on leaving conditioner on hair..
applied Aveda be curly cream on hair after conditioner wash.. by today ( dint comb, dint detangle with fingers, just tied the hair) the hair is dry and quiet brittle type. Let me know if you have some suggestions.
