“I was born with curly hair. Frizz and dryness were my life long companions. My mother had completely different hair and we both had no idea about handling all the typical issues that comes with frizzy curls. I almost gave up on my hair and started to trim it short. Whenever I wanted to grow it, split ends attacked and again I had to trim my hair down. I even prayed to God to make my hair straight overnight but he never did…:p But towards the end of my teens, I began to love my hair despite all of its problems (they are no more my problems! 🙂 ) and the constant teasing from friends and family. I blow dried my hair couple of times for attending functions and for my marriage to make it more manageable. But somehow it just gave me temporary happiness and now I came to know that it didn’t bring the beauty that my natural curls had. Those who are born with curls look their best in curls. I used to respond rudely to anyone who asked me to do permanent straightening. The truth was that I was clueless of the ways to treat my hair and bring out the beauty hidden in my curls. Then slowly I began to follow various curly haired girls’ vlogs but in the end was confused with a lot products used by them. Then I found the GEM, Anjana and her blog. It was life changing! Everyone asks about my curls now and I get compliments from here and there. No one asks me to straighten my hair anymore instead they began to ask me what I did to my hair to make it so curly. Anjana’s blog gave me the confidence to say good bye to pony tails and to walk around with loosen curls and feel the wind blowing on my hair. I love my curls forever.

Hi Anjana, I have a question. I usually use any normal shampoo, not curl-specific. This has not caused any problems so I will continue to do this. After shampoo and conditioner, I scrunch dry with a tshirt, then scrunch hair serum and Cantu curl activator cream through most of my hair. However, the very top of my head near my roots remains dry and frizzy, as the cantu and serum are not able to reach here. How can I stop frizzy hair on the very top of my head? Thanks!
