Readers’ Diary includes some of my beautiful readers who’ve had a curly hair transformation after following the Curly Hair Routine. A whole section dedicated to my readers.
So here’s a big shoutout to all my lovely readers – I would love it if you can share photos of your curly hair’s before & after, how the blog has helped you and a paragraph about your routine and products. Send them to info@curlsandbeautydiary.com
I’ve always had long wavy/curly hair (3A/3B type) and I found it very difficult to manage it on a day to day basis. I had no clue about any of the products that were out there for curly hair, reason being that I never looked! I just took it the way it was and straightened it whenever I felt it was too hard to deal with. I was overwhelmed with the amount of information out there about different products and techniques to use and wished there was a place I could go to that gave me concise information on what exactly to do to gradually maintain my curly hair. Recently I came across Anjana’s Instagram page – I was in awe of her hair and realized she also struggled at the beginning. From there I went on a hunt for sulphate free hair products and different techniques.
- On hair wash days I’ve made it a habit to oil my hair and leave it in for atleast 30 minutes before I shower. I use good old cold pressed organic coconut oil heated up and worked through my hair generously. Especially the tips of my hair where there is still damage from using heat.
- I try to use sulphate free products as much as I can. Current shampoo and conditioner is the OGX Keratin Oil shampoo and conditioner. I leave the conditioner in my hair for a few minutes and detangle with my fingers/de-tangle brush before washing it off. Sometimes I like to deep condition using the Shea Moisture deep treatment masque.
- After shampooing and conditioning I flip my hair down and apply a small amount of the Cantu moisturizing curl activator cream and I scrunch away for about 2 minutes.
- Following this I use a T-shirt to further dry my hair while still scrunching with the T-shirt.
- Once I get out of the shower I go on to plop my hair and go to bed (best way to get amazing curls the next morning)

Hi Anjana,
Great post. Organic oils are so beneficial. Oiling your hair is very important though nowadays we seldom do that. I am glad you still follow the age old formula to look after your hair.
Thanks for sharing, have a good day. 🙂

Hi Anjana..could you please make a video on how to style 2nd or 3rd day hair after wash? I manage to get lovely curls the day I wash my hair..the next day it becomes dry and tangly..I have waist length thick curly hair.
