Curls and Beauty Diary reader testimonial

Readers’ Diary includes some of my beautiful readers who’ve had a curly hair transformation after following the Curly Hair Routine. A whole section dedicated to my readers.

So here’s a big shoutout to all my lovely readers – I would love it if you can share photos of your curly hair’s before & after, how the blog has helped you and a paragraph about your routine and products. Send them to info@curlsandbeautydiary.com

“Hey Curl lovers, I’d like to walk you through my curly hair journey. I always knew my hair was curly, since childhood as it curled up after every hair-wash. My friends would admire them in school on Day1 after hair wash. But soon after it would lose definition, frizz up, become extremely dry as does all curly hair. I never knew that ‘curly hair routine’ is a thing till I came across Anjana’ s blog back in 2015. I have always read almost all of her blogs and absolutely love the way her hair curls in a wavy way. The photos are mesmerizing. Though I used to read all the posts, I never followed any routine till recently in April 2017. I had felt that my face shape wasn’t suited for curly hair, as they accentuate the roundness. Yet I was tempted to give it a try.

Anjana’ s blog was the first that introduced me to this beautiful product called Cantu curl activator, invisibobbles, silk pillows and satin bonnets. Now I follow a lot of curly hair bloggers on Instagram and watch a lot of videos and curly hair routines. I try homemade deep conditioning, protein treatments and find that it does have a calming effect on my ever so wild curls.

I believe just as there is no same destiny for each of us, similarly there is no fixed routine for all. You need to learn about your hair, its texture, its type and what suits you best and what doesn’t. It takes a lot of time and effort, but as they say good things never come easy. I have a long road ahead of me. I have lots to learn on how to make my hair healthy, what suits my hair better. Anjana is a huge help. She answers my doubts whenever I have any and I believe she researches a lot on each topic in depth and her blogs are almost a kind of shortcut for her readers.  Also her write-ups on beauty tips and her accessory collection are ones to die for. Thank you Anjana for featuring me in your blog \m/. Keep blogging gal. Stay Curly. Stay Beautiful 🙂

My Curly Hair Routine:

I haven’t yet tried the strict CG routine. Sulphates and silicones don’t affect my curl clumping and definition. May be I will try it soon to see how it fares for me.

  1. Pre-poo with coconut oil.
  2. Shampoo: Head & Shoulders Anti Dandruff Shampoo / Garnier Ultra Blends Mythic Olive oil (contains Sulphates)
  3. Conditioned with Enliven Fruit Extracts conditioner/ Revlon Flex Regular Protein conditioner
  4. Applied Cantu curl activator cream in dripping wet hair in praying hand motion.
  5. Scrunched with Deva Curl Ultra defining gel / home-made flaxseed gel
  6. Add a drop or two of coconut oil and scrunch to give my curls a glossy look
  7. Plopped for half an hour
  8. Air dried overnight, sleep putting on my satin bonnet.

I normally co-wash twice a week, shampoo once.

For my refresh routine, I wet my hair at night using a spray bottle containing few drops of conditioner + a drop of essential oil for fragrance and then take a handful of Aloe-Vera gel and scrunch to revive the curls. The next morning, I SOTC and my curls are revived.”
