Compared to around 5 years ago, we curlies have a lot of Indian brands coming out with products for curly hair today. I tried a lot of them in the past few months and will be posting reviews of each in the coming months. Here is my review of the Manetain Conditioner.
Manetain is one such Indian brand founded by 2 Curly Girls. They sent me their Manetain conditioner and co-wash to try.
Description by Manetain : Our conditioner promises to detangle, restore shine and moisture and strengthen your hair all at the same time! Formulated with Aloe vera, Argan oil, Lavender and Plant based keratin, our multipurpose conditioner can be used as a rinse off conditioner, deep conditioner or leave-in conditioner.
Please note that we have formulated the product keeping in mind the concept of βless is moreβ. If you feel the need to add more product, ensure to add little water before reapplying the product. Our products work the best on dripping wet hair.
I don’t usually pay much head to product label descriptions, but this one is different and important as I will explain later π
Price : 1670 INR for 236 ml. You can buy it here (India)

The ingredients list is amazing. It has all the great ingredients expected in a conditioner. Manetain conditioner also has tiny amounts of light oils like argan & jojoba. It also has a bit of hydrolysed protein.
Manetain Conditioner Checklist
CG Friendly: Yes
Protein free: No
Texture: Thick, whipped, pasty. It comes in a tub thankfully, so you don’t have to workout your arms trying to squeeze a thick product out π
Fragrance: Mild herbal fragrance, has only essential oils for fragrance which is amazing for those sensitive to artificial fragrances.
I use Manetain conditioner as my rinse-off conditioner and then left some in as leave-in too. I did not use any gel and just air dried. Love the shine!
Performance:
Here is a post with my full curly hair care routine β My curly hair routine.
+ It has amazing slip and glides like butter. It melts into hair.
+ You need very little quantity as the product emulsifies with water to spread to a larger area.
+ Detangles hair with ease.
+ Works great both as a rinse off and leave in conditioner.
+ Hair feels super soft and moisturised post wash. I can almost feel that this conditioner is improving the “health” of my hair, if that makes any sense π
β The price may be negative point. I say ‘may be’ because the quantity required and the quality may justify the price.
In short: Manetain Conditioner is an amazing conditioner from an Indian brand. It has amazing detangling and moisturizing properties and is a great all rounder multipurpose product.
