If you have been reading my posts for some time, you would know that I am obsessed about L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Rich Oil. It’s my absolute favourite hair serum. I have been using their masque also for some time now. You can see I even have their biggest tub. This review has been long pending!

Ingredient Analysis:
Water, cetearyl alcohol – fatty alcohol(smoothens cuticle), behentrimonium chloride, centrimonium chloride – surfactants(provide slip), candelilla wax, amodimethicone – non soluble silicone, cetyl esters – wax(emollient, thickener), isopropyl alcohol – drying alcohol, glycerin – humectant, phenoxyethanol – film forming polymer, persea gratissima oil (avocado oil), vitis vinnifera seed oil (grape seed oil), trideceth-6 – Moisturizer, argania spinosa oil/argania spinosa kernel oil, gossypium herbaceum oil (cotton seed oil), limonene, chlorhexidine digluconate, hexyl cinnamal, coumarin, linalool, benzyl alcohol, butylphenyl methylpropional, hydroxycitronella, amyl cinnamal – fragrances & preservatives.

The biggest issue I see in the ingredient list is isopropyl alcohol. It is a very drying alcohol and very notorious in the curl community. Other than that there are some great oils. The waxes may feel well waxy on some hair types.

Texture: L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Masque has a thick, soft texture. The slip is very good.
Smell: It smells really strong. The smell fades away in a few hours.
Packaging: A fast tub of plastic.

+ Provides good slip which makes detangling curly hair in the shower extremely easy
+ Hair feels smooth to touch in the shower itself
+ Imparts shine, hydration and bounce to curly hair
+ Doesn’t make hair look greasy or frizzy
– The only problem I have with this product is the isopropyl alcohol. Though my hair is not at all dry and in fact from the positives that I’ve mentioned above, it does the exact opposite of drying. But I have it in my head that there’s isopropyl alcohol in it. It’s just a mind block.
In short: L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Masque is a great moisturizing masks with great oils. Though it has isopropyl alcohol, it doesn’t dry hair one bit. It imparts shine and bounce to curls.
