DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel Review

I am going to be reviewing a lot of gels because I am obsessed with them suddenly and buying new ones almost every week 😀 On Instagram, I had seen hundreds of curl specialists using DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel on their clients for beautifully defined curls so I purchased it even though it is not at all cheap in India 🙁

I love the ingredients. It’s got great film forming polymers. DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel is also Sulfate, Paraben, Silicone, Paraffin, Mineral Oil, and Alcohol free.

Texture: The texture is to die for. It spreads so very easily and melts into your hair making application very very easy. DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel is non-sticky, clear, light and is not as thick as drugstore gels.
Smell: I love the smell. It’s very fresh and mild.

+ Forms a basic gel cast that protects and holds curls while it is drying

+ Prevents frizz

+ The gel cast is very natural which makes curls not crunchy at all

+ Scrunches out easily after drying and leaves no residues or flakes

– I would have liked a stronger gel cast

– I am yet to try it during dry winters. The glycerin may cause an issue. It’s right on top of the ingredient list.

– This gel may not suit people with protein sensitivity. (My hair likes proteins.)

In short: DevaCurl please come to India! I love the refreshing feel and texture of DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel. It’s one of the best gels for curly hair.
