Devacurl B′Leave-In: I bought this leave in inspired by Ayesha (@spisha). I love the DevaCurl Ultra Defining Gel and want to try all their products one by one.
Description by Devacurl: This lightweight gelée contains a conditioning and strengthening blend of wheat protein, lemongrass and chamomile. The moisturizing formula adds instant shine, volume and plumpness to curls.
Price: Around 2000 INR. You can buy it here (India) or here (US) -#CommissionsEarned
Ingredient Analysis:
- Glycerin – Humectant
- PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides – Emollient
- Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride – Conditioning Agent
- Wheat Amino Acids, Hydrolyzed Corn Protein, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein – Film Forming, Impart body to hair. As you can see it is high on proteins and that’s what gives hair the bounce and fullness. If your hair is protein sensitive, you may want to avoid this product.
Ingredients after the first 5 to 8 ingredients are in negligible amounts and can be ignored if you are not trying to avoid any ingredient in particular – Read the Ingredients List, Not the Product Claims
CG Friendly: Yes
Texture: Jelly like and semi-runny
Smell: Smells like lemongrass mixed with some herbs
Packaging: Flip cap tube. It does leak at times because this is a runny product. The larger one is a pump bottle.
Performance:
I was actually a little confused with this product because it looks like a gel but it provides no hold. It doesn’t really look like a leave in. It is a leave in, just not a leave in conditioner. So don’t expect great moisturisation from this.
+ Plumps up curls for body and bounce
+ Ultra lightweight moisture
– Not very moisturizing for those with really dry hair
Here’s how I apply products – How to apply products and scrunch curly hair
In short: This is a perfect leave in for hair types that can get weighed down easily – low porosity, wavy or fine hair. Lightweight moisture with body is what Devacurl B′Leave-In provides.

For curls that loosen up, I’d include a good hard hold gel

Have you tried any of Ouidad’s curly hair products and how would you compare those with that of DevaCurl’s products?
