  • My Curly Haircut at Bounce Salon, Lavelle Road, Bangalore

My last haircut was blunt at the ends and I was missing my V shape. Also the top layers grew out within a month. I wanted really short layers. So within 2 months of my last haircut I got another one. This is perhaps the shortest I have gone between haircuts.

Before the haircut – Blunt ends, grown out layers, Box shaped Hair 😐

This time I chose Aurelia of Bounce Salon, Lavelle Road after being suggested by one of my readers, Ivy. Ivy, if you are reading this, a big HUG to you! I think I have found the stylist I am never going to leave! I absolutely loved the hair cut!

Check this on how to speak to your hair stylist – Haircuts for curly hair

My experience:

Aurelia has wavy hair herself and knew many of the dynamics of curly hair. She was absolutely down to earth and listened to all my concerns and needs with utmost care.

I had taken my products with me and she used them to wash and condition my hair.

She kept talking through the process about the length I wanted to keep, how short I wanted the layers to be, the shape etc. She was really excited to learn about curly hair and we were talking the 101 of curly hair throughout the cut. In between conversation she told me some of her clients had told her about my blog and that she was feeling lucky to cut my hair. Aww!

After the cut, she applied styling product and diffused my hair.

And the cut is everything I wished for! A perfect V shaped end, short layers to add volume and bounce. And the best part was that I had a very short haircut shock period. Hurray! My ringlets were back in no time. I totally recommend Aurelia for curly hair cuts! Damn, I didn’t click even one pic with here! Next time πŸ™‚

I need a haircut soon. It’s been 6 months since my last. I usually only trim my hair but I do so every 3 months, never shape it out of the fear of losing the length 😜

I am going to take your cue, and check this one out. Though I want a different look from the front. Haven’t any clue on what to do about that. Thanks for the recommendation, Gorgeous ❀️😘

Ya she is amazing Amritha

Hi Anjana,
I have round face and mid length hair. I’m planning to get a haircut soon. I want to get rid of my split ends. So I might have to reduce their length. My questions might sound silly, but I’m getting to know my curls. Will short layers work for me with a V cut at the end? If yes, should they be starting below my ear or my chin? Or should I go for long layers and V cut?
Please let me know.

Round face many benefit more with long layers starting below your chin, Gauri

Hey Anjana.
Your hair looks gorgeous!!
This is gonna be long..!!
I don’t have long hair now.. But I am gonna grow them out.. Now I am having step cut in my hair and I quiet like it. But the thing is that i am someone who likes to braid (specially french braid) my hair on day 3 and day 4. And with step cut, as the steps are on different levels, my hair comes out from my braid. I can’t let them all be the same length because without any cut the curls at the bottom will weigh down my roots.. So do you any suggestions ??

Thanks Snehal πŸ™‚ I absolutely love hair sticking out of my braids because it gives them a fun and free look rather than a neat plaited look. Embrace the messy look πŸ˜€ Anyway, messy looks are in πŸ˜€

Can I use wow apple cider vinegar shampoo to remove buildip before going to cg because it says that itt removes buildups coz shampoo in nearby stores contain silicones also in it ?

It’s best to use a sulphate shampoo. This one is easily available – Pantene Lively Clean Shampoo Review

Heyyy… I am so glad you loved Aurelia πŸ™‚ yay!! She is just amazing! And of course your hair looks gorgeous!

Thanks for the suggestion Ivy πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Your haircut looks lovely .It looks like it has nice movement and volume to it while still keeping the length.I went to a Loreal salon in my town for a haircut and it was such an unfortunate experience. The stylist even said my hair is not naturally curly if I use gel and leave in it!! Needless to say I came away without having a haircut .

Thanks Deb πŸ™‚ Ouch!! Where was that salon?

Anjana, could you please detail out the process? When you say you took your products – did you use a shampoo and conditioner? Or did you go for a cowash? Did you apply your styling products on wet hair? I’m most worried about detangling. Planning to get a haircut soon.

She used my shampoo and conditioner and detangled with he conditioner in. Post the cut, she applied the cream on damp hair

Thanks a ton Anjana. Can’t tell you how helpful your blog is! I am just beginning to take baby steps into the curly hair world after years of hating my frizzy mane.

I am so glad to hear that Maria πŸ™‚

Hi, loved the result!!! It’d be great if you could add the haircut prices of the various salon experiences to shared.

Did you suggest a dry cut or wet cut for short (shoulder length) curly hair? I’m worried I’ll lose length.

Hi Ranjini, It depends on what the stylist you are going to is best at πŸ™‚ I personally like wet cuts better but that could also be because I haven’t gone to a real good wet cut stylist

Hey. Considering this is pretty upscale place, how much did they charge you just for the haircut? Asking coz I’m a student and broke. Also is it okay to go with washed and conditioned hair than getting it done there?

Hi Viola, I don’t remember πŸ™‚ You could call them up and ask both
