This is my first click-bait article and intentionally so. I get many questions on “the best shampoo for frizzy hair” and I would like them to reach the right resources. If you reached this post looking for a solution to your frizzy hair, I want to tell you that just a shampoo is not the answer. A change in shampoo will not give you frizz-free hair immediately. I want you to realise that perhaps your hair is not frizzy – it is just wavy/curly hair that you are treating like straight hair.
Beautiful curly hair starts with the right routine, products and care.

Products –

Hey Anjana,
I’m very confused about my hair type. I’ve referenced your article and many others, but I just can’t figure it out. For pretty much all my life I’ve been oiling-brushing-braiding my hair, but I’ve come to realize that my hair is actually curly.
I was wondering if you could help me out someway. Can I email the pics to you if possible? (I don’t have Instagram btw)
Thanks
Anjana

Hi Anjana, I was wondering if you could give me some advice for how to deal with frizz. My hair always gets frizzy after I plop it. I apply a leave in and gel after I shower before I plop it.

Hi Carolyn, Does it look good if you don’t plop it?

No, it gets just as frizzy and with less volume at my roots.

What’s your curl type, coarseness and length? What products and how much of each product do you use?

I have 2b/c thick, long hair. I use the tresseme conditioner that you recommended in one of your posts, I use the Eco hair gel, and I use the Asiam leave in conditioner. I do the squish to condish method using these products.

And how much of each product do you use?

I would say I use about a palm full of each, I use a lot of product due to my long hair.

Hi anjana, which type of leave in is best for cold places? And also the gel?
Anjana
July 24, 2019 at 1:48 pm
Gautami, for cold dry places, it’s best to skip gel. The type of leave in depends on many factors like your curl type, coarseness

Hey Anjana ,
I have a doubt . I watched your regular hair routine video. My doubt is after conditioning you did not wash your hair. Is it good to leave it . because I have never done that.

Yes, leaving conditioner in provides hair with much needed moisture

Hi Anjana,
Can u pls suggest a sulphate and paraben free mild shampoo which does not rip off moisture as my hair type is dry and frizzy..

Hi Raj, I hope you read this post and understood that just changing a shampoo will not help provide frizz free hair 🙂

Have you seen this – https://www.curlsandbeautydiary.com/list-sulphate-free-shampoos-india/
It has more budget options. I personally like Camille Rose ginger shampoo and Devacurl Low-poo.

Hello Anjana, Hi. I’m from Los Angeles, California. Just wanted to say that I’ve watched 100s of Youtube Videos on how to style curly hair. I’d say I have 3a, 3b fine hair. For the last several years, I’ve tried many different styling techniques (some surprisingly contradictory) and used too many different hair products. I had to make myself a promise not to buy any more 🙂 My curly hair was presentable but not 100% to my liking. I recently found your site and started doing YOUR curly hair routine. And that was the trick. Your comments, suggestions, styling process, etc. has worked perfectly for my hair. And you are so patient and nice when answering questions and giving advice. Thank you for sharing your expertise!
