I have written all about why sleeping on silk is good for curly hair and why silk is better than satin here. So I won’t be repeating any of that. Let’s get on to the review.
+ The fabric is high quality silk, not anything like the cheap satin-y fabrics we get in the name of pillows or bonnets
+ It helps my curls stay frizz free while I toss and turn through my sleep
+ Unlike most pillow cases which just have a normal opening (including my favorite SpaSilk), this one has a zip closure that stops it from sliding off
+ The marble print is sooo pretty! Because I sleep with wet or damp hair or even with dry hair that is product laden, I get stains on my really light pastel coloured SpaSilk pillowcases. The dark colour and print of this one doesn’t show any stain and looks as good as new even after I’ve used it for 2-3 weeks
– It is not as soft as the SpaSilk pillow cover, which I think is because the weaves are not the same

SpaSilk pillow cover are not pure silk at all. They are synthetic i.e. polyester satin. So its not about “WEAVES” as you put it. Im surprised you dont know that as a reviewer!

They have 2 products- 100% pure silk with charmeuse weave(the one I use) –

and satin silk (which isn’t pure silk, is much cheaper and is the one you’re talking about) – http://store.spasilk.com/100-satin-pillowcase-queen-size-aqua/
. Charmeuse weave results in a velvetty finish. Please do your research before pointing fingers 🙂

Is it necessary to put on a shower cap in summer, after oiling? Coz i heard low po hair can penetrate more when we put on a shower cap.
But here too much hot weather, putting on shower cap gives me only sweat, is that okay ? Sweat doesn’t cause flaky scalp or dandruff??

You can skip the cap in summer because the idea is to get more heat

Would you still recommend to sleep with your hair wet using the bonnet ?

When I sleep with wet hair, I only use the pillow and not the bonnet to help it dry faster

Hey anjana, I was reading your blog and checking out the prices. This one costs almost 3.5k now. and is just too expensive.
As I read abouve, you had been using pasilk -was that good enough?
Cos I can see they deliver through Amazon, is it even the actual “spasilk” brand
Which do you suggest. Should I be splurging so much on beausilk?

Also keep in mind that spasilk has 2 products – satin silk (which is cheaper) and pure silk.
