Paid Collaboration with Arata
The gel and cream from Arata’s original haircare line are among my most favorite hair products ever. I always keep them in stock; they are my go-to combo when I want consistent good looking curls. So when Arata announced that they are coming out with their dedicated curly hair line, the Arata Advanced Curl Care line, I was beyond ecstatic. Let’s take a look at the Curl Care Shampoo, Conditioner & Leave-in from the Arata Advanced Curl Care Line.
Arata Advanced Curl Care Shampoo, Conditioner & Leave-in can be bought separately. They also come in a combo called the Arata Advanced Curl Enhancing Combo.

Arata Advanced Curl Care Shampoo has many gentle surfactants. It also has small amounts of emollients and cationic surfactants found in conditioners which make it all the more moisturising. You can also find tiny amounts of oils and butters. All in all, the ingredients list is amazing!

Performance: Arata Advanced Curl Care Shampoo lives up to the ingredients list. It is one of the most moisturizing shampoos I’ve used. It cleanses well, yet doesn’t dry out my hair or leave it straw like. It is definitely one of my current favorite shampoos.

Ingredients after the first 5 to 8 ingredients are in negligible amounts and can be ignored if you are not trying to avoid any ingredient in particular – Read the Ingredients List, Not the Product Claims
See this list of ingredients expected in a conditioner. There is no cationic surfactant. There are a lot of emollients, oils and butters for hydration and shine, but, I repeat, there is no cationic surfactant to smoothen the cuticle and help in detangling. Arata Advanced Curl Care Rinse Off Conditioner also has proteins.
Price: 899 INR. You can buy it here.
CG Friendly: Yes
Protein free: No
Texture: Silky soft, but provides very little slip
Fragrance: Jasmine
Performance: Arata Advanced Curl Care Rinse Off Conditioner’s has very little slip and could have been better as I had a very hard time trying to detangle my hair.
Arata Advanced Curl Care Leave-In Conditioner Review
Ingredient Analysis:
- Aqua
- Sodium Acrylates Copolymer – Film Forming Polymer
- Lecithin – Emulsifier
- Hydroxyethylcellulose – Thickener
- Vegetable Glycerine – Humectant(absorbs & retains moisture)
- Propylene Glycol – Humectant
- Xylitylglucoside – Humectant
- Anhydroxylitol – Humectant
- Xylitol – Humectant
Ingredients after the first 5 to 8 ingredients are in negligible amounts and can be ignored if you are not trying to avoid any ingredient in particular – Read the Ingredients List, Not the Product Claims
Arata Advanced Curl Care Leave-In Conditioner has a film forming polymer on top of the list, which gives it the potential to act like a curl cream. It is high on humectants which can be tricky in humid and dry weathers. It has tiny amounts of emollients, not as much as traditional leave-ins would have. Arata Advanced Curl Care Leave-In Conditioner also has small amounts of oil.
Price: 499 INR. You can buy it here.
CG Friendly: Yes
Protein free: Yes
Texture: Silky soft, has good slip to cover hair after a good detangling. But not enough to use as a detangler.
Fragrance: Jasmine
Performance: Arata Advanced Curl Care Leave-In Conditioner didn’t provide me with too much moisture, just a little. Also, I felt like the leave in was absorbing the gel applied on top of it.

Hi, my coarse 3b hair is still dry even after deep conditioning. I did the deep conditioning after washing my hair using a clarifying shampoo so I don’t think there was any product buildup. Using the deep conditioner was still better than using a regular conditioner but my hair was still very dry and rough to the touch and got tangled very easily. I don’t know what I did wrong and any advice you give will be helpful thanks!

Hi Vinodhithaa, try deep conditioning on every wash day and give it some weeks/months. Also what leave in do you use?

Maybe also try a more moisturising leave in mentioned in my beginner kit post https://www.curlsandbeautydiary.com/beginner-friendly-simple-curly-hair-starter-kit/

Hi there, thank you for this initiative. I would love to try some products for my hair by myself (based on your suggestions). However, I am extremely sensitive to fragrances. I would love to embrace this curly hair routine. Could you please suggest a (shampoo, conditioner, co-wash and gel kit) that’s fragrance-free (unscented) available in India…
